Abstract

This presentation explores innovative applications of artificial intelligence in financial education, focusing on how AI technologies can transform challenges into sustainable opportunities in investment education and robo-advisory platforms. Using an agile framework, the session examines how educators and financial institutions can leverage AI to enhance financial literacy, democratize investment knowledge, and develop more accessible advisory services. The presentation will address implementation strategies, ethical considerations, and the evolving role of human educators in an increasingly AI-augmented financial landscape.

Author Biography

Shahinaz Hanem Abdellatif, University Canada West

Dr. Sherry Abdellatif brings over 25 years of diverse experience spanning academia and industry, both in Canada and internationally. With a proven track record in senior roles as an advisor, financial planner, and policy maker, she has contributed to renowned financial institutions. Dr. Abdellatif is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Quantitative Studies at University Canada West, where she teaches financial planning and investments. She also serves as the Vice Chair of the DOQS Research Committee. Holding a Doctorate in Business Administration (2008) and a master's degree in business administration (2002) from Heriot Watt University. She also holds certifications in investments and financial planning. Her main research interests focus on Fintech, and financial literacy education.
